Bandit Race Cars named 2009 O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Modified Series Chassis Builder of the Year

BUFFALO, KY (October 07, 2009) – Bandit Race Cars has been the 2009 O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series Chassis Builder of the Year.

Bandit Race Cars took victories in four of eight series events with Bryan Barber picking up wins on June 6 at Tazewell (TN) Speedway, July 25 at Bluegrass (KY) Speedway and August 8 at 201 (KY) Speedway. Russ Gabbert also earned his first O’Reilly Battle of the Bluegrass Open Wheel Modified Series victory in his Bandit Race Car on June 20 at Richmond (KY) Raceway.

Five of the top ten drivers in 2009 series point standings were a part of Team Bandit. Bryan Barber would claim the 2009 Series Championship with J.T. Ayers earning Rookie of the Year honors. Randy Turning would finish fifth in Series Points with his Bandit machine with Elliott Despain finishing eighth and Russ Gabbert finish ninth.
